Bob brings more than 25 years of experience as a veteran Silicon Valley CMO and VP of Marketing to his role at Firebrick. He provides valuable perspective and insights in the development of disruptive messages and scale-up strategies.
His career in high tech began with Informix, where as VP of Corporate Marketing, he successfully grew the company from a startup into a billion-dollar industry leader and to its eventual IPO. Bob was also instrumental in a two-year effort to improve Informix’s market perception, culminating in the company’s recognition as the technology leader in the relational database space by numerous industry organizations, including Gartner Group.
Following Informix, Bob served as CMO/Senior VP of Marketing to scale a number of B2B startup technology companies, helping them accelerate revenue growth and playing a pivotal role in their successful acquisitions at optimal valuations. These companies include Visigenic Software (acquired by Borland), SQRIBE Software (acquired by Brio Software) and InQuira (acquired by Oracle).
