Katey has a true passion for helping companies create messaging that resonates with buyers, breaks through the noise, and drives business results. She brings more than 15 years of experience to her role at Firebrick, and has led dozens of B2B tech companies in launch, pre- and post-acquisition, and market differentiating communications programs.
Before Firebrick, Katey was a communications consultant, working with companies across a wide range of technologies to build awareness and thought leadership through smart PR strategies, high impact media relations, and killer content creation. She has stayed fiercely committed to the B2B tech industry no matter which way the market winds blow, and thus has a strong understanding of what works — and what doesn't — from an industry and customer point-of-view.
Prior to consulting, she was a vice president at Horn Group, one of the hottest and most enduring agency brands in the tech industry. At Horn, she was a go-to player for any account with a complex positioning problem — whether for technology, market or reputation reasons. She helped lead a number of Horn's largest clients, such as Novell and RightNow. She also led the company's book launch practice, working closely with Crossing the Chasm's Geoffrey Moore, who serves as a big career inspiration. Katey was also senior account executive at The Weber Group (now Weber Shandwick).
Katey earned a B.A. in International Relations from Bucknell University. A native of the Midwest, she lives in Marin County with her family where she loves seeking out new adventures in food, wine and nature.Next Bio »
